New Pics

Here are a few new pics of Liam. Notice three of them are of Liam and Josh- I always seem to be the photographer! He likes to play in the Exersaucer...he especially loves to bite that butterfly.
We got to go to Lake Erie Metropark- a really pretty park on the shore of Lake Erie that's only about 20 minutes from our new apartment. Here's a pic of Josh and Liam walking on the trail.
We read to Liam every night. Don't laugh, he really sits still and looks at the pictures (unelss you have a camera)!
We went to the zoo with some friends. It wasn't a bad trip considering we had Liam and their son (only 10 months older than Liam) and both were missing naptime AND it was 90 degrees out! The polar bears were the best part. They had a tunnel and the bears swam over. These are the only Animals that Liam really noticed.

Cheap toy idea....

You know how when you give a baby a present, they always seem more interested in the box , the paper, or the bow? Liam has lots of toys. He has toys that light up and flash, toys that play music, toys that shake, toys that rattle, toys that move, toys to chew, and just plain old toys. He is seen here in awe of one of his favorite toys...the cheapest one of all. We took a plastic cup and poked holes in it. When he takes a bath, we just fill it with water and let the water drip out the holes. He always smiles and holds his had up to catch the water. Since he likes it so much we are going to "invest" in something a little more sturdy and poke holes in a 20 oz. soda bottle.

New Photos

Here are Liam's 5 month photos taken in July.

Liam loves...Food!

Liam seems to love to eat--anything. he has a sinus infection, and his doctor put him on antibiotics, because he seems to think that the problem is bacterial. It's that nasty Amoxaciclin- the smell alone brings back nightmares from my childhood- and Liam just sucks it right up. I usually give it to him before he eats his solids, and he always opens right up for those too, like he is ready for more medicine. Gross! So far he's had cereal, peas, and avocado, and he seems to like them all. He's not picky!

Grandma

My grandma passed away in July, so I thought that I would dedicate a post to her, and some memories of her. My favorite memories about Grandma include going to Dairy Queen for Blizzards (she always got Heath Bar, and I got Oreo), Making corn bread in the waffle maker, and the smell of her Lilacs in the spring. She taught me about Naked Ladies (the flowers people, geez!), and when I went to her house I could watch Nickelodeon- we didn't have cable at our house. There are many things that I will miss about my Grandma, but I am very grateful for all of the time that I did get to spend with her. My cousin sent me this photo of her, and I love it...because it has the lilacs in it too!

Moved!

We are finally moved in- yeah! It was quite the ordeal, but we are here. Our plan was to pick up the truck on Saturday morning and return in on Saturday night. But on Wednesday, we got a call from my mom and my Grandmother died. So we began to scramble. I called the budget truck place that we rented the truck from. The lady told me that I was "on her list" of people to call, and that they had overbooked their trucks, so they didn't even have a truck for us to use on the day that we had originally reserved (a month in advance, mind you!) So I reserved another truck (another Budget) from another site and then I called them to find out when I could pick the truck up. He said I could pick it up anytime, but that it doesn't run. Great. Thanks. That's the one requirement that we had.

At this point I'm freaking out, and I called a U-Haul place. The guy there said that they didn't have any trucks, but that he would find one for me. He called around and found one at an Ace Hardware in the middle of nowhere, about 25 miles outside of Lansing. Great- we'll take it! The guys there were so nice and they gave me a free day and matched the Budget price. Not only that, but the truck was brand new- only 400 miles on it, so we didn't have to worry so much about it breaking down.

We picked the truck up Thursday, loaded it up (Thanks again Sean for your help!) and unloaded it on Friday. Then Liam and I caught a plane to St. Louis on Saturday morning in time to be with my family before the funeral.

On a side note, when we signed for the U-Haul, Josh's signature was so terrible that they guy behind the counter laughed and said "What are you, going to be a doctor?" :0)
