We set out for Illinois/Missouri on Friday, December 19
th, after Josh got home from his neurology rotation. We had gotten 12 inches of snow that day, so as Josh was pulling in, his car got stuck, because the snow had come down so fast the plows couldn't keep up. We dug the car out of the snow, and helped a few neighbors dig out as well, and then we were on our way- we debated on whether or not to wait until morning when the roads were better to leave, but after much research, we found out that the roads were only bad for the Michigan portion of our trip, and that I-75 (the interstate that we are on the whole time we're in Michigan) was the only road that HAD been cleared. The ride was uneventful- we made it to Indianapolis with no trouble to our awaiting hotel- Liam only cried for about 20
minutes the whole 5 hours, so I thought he did well. The next morning we made it to my parents...Liam did well in the car again.
We spent the day and next night at my parents, before going to spend some time with Josh's family. On Christmas day we drove back to my parents to spend half of Christmas and the rest of our trip (except Saturday, which we drove to be with the other side of Josh's family) there. It was GREAT to see our families, and spend some time with everyone. As an added bonus, it got up to 75 degrees there a couple of days, which was a much needed break from the Michigan snow, ice, and freezing temps. Unfortunately, I kept forgetting to bring my camera, but here a a few photos that I snapped of him with some of his new things when we got home, and one of him with my mom while we were down there.

More cute Jammies!

Riding his new Rocking Horse...he LOVES this thing, but right now for limited amounts of time, because he still has to wear the saddle, and I think he feels trapped if he's on there too long. You can tell by his smile how much he's enjoying it!
